Southampton turn their attention away from the battle for promotion from the Championship for a period this midweek.
On the Wednesday, the Saints make the long trip to Anfield to face Liverpool in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Russell Martin takes his team to Merseyside on the back of three defeats in their last four games. That includes a 2-1 loss at home to Millwall on Saturday.
Liverpool by contrast, will be coming into this one on a high, following their victory over Chelsea in the final of the Carabao Cup on Sunday.
Now it seems as though there is an expectation that Southampton could be set for another difficult night come Wednesday.
Chris Sutton backing Liverpool for FA Cup progress
Admittedly, the Saints look as though they could be taking on a depleted Liverpool side on Wednesday night.
Jurgen Klopp’s team had a number of senior players unavailable for that win over Chelsea at the weekend.
Even so, Chris Sutton believes that the way Southampton play will suit Liverpool’s pressing game.
As a result, with the Premier League side chasing more trophies in Klopp’s final season in charge, he believes the hosts will have to much for the Saints in this one.
Writing about the game in his FA Cup predictions column for BBC Sport, the former England international said:
“Southampton have hit a bit of a sticky patch but they are still going to play the same way, and be open and expansive.
“They will give Liverpool room to play and the fact the game is at Anfield should help Jurgen Klopp’s side too, whether he goes with the kids again, like he did at Wembley, or not.
“We don’t know if any of the big guns will be back for Liverpool after missing the Carabao Cup final, but we know that, as a team, they are hungry for trophies.
“In fact, Klopp will be gluttonous, and want to win everything in his final season in charge of the Reds.
“Saints will be brave but Liverpool just love to press teams and are so good at it. That will probably be the difference.”
Sutton has therefore predicted a 3-1 win for Liverpool over Southampton on Wednesday night.

FA Cup clash a big ask for Southampton
This is going to be a very tough challenge for the Saints on Wednesday night.
Liverpool are going to be on a huge high after Sunday, and that should play into their hands with the Anfield atmosphere as well.
As a result, this will be a daunting situation for Southampton to find themselves in, especially if the hosts do have some of their more senior players back.
With Klopp desperate to win as many trophies as possible in his final season on Merseyside, he is also going to have his team well up for this one.
That could see them exploit a Southampton side, who are in far from the best form right now.
Indeed, given the priority for the Saints is surely winning promotion back to the Premier League, this is perhaps not a game they need right now given their recent struggles.
Of course, that could change if they do manage to get a win from this one. However, it seems hard to imagine Southampton will do that in the current circumstances.
