Southampton have had three players called up to England’s U17 World Cup squad.
As confirmed by journalist Henry Winter on a post on his X account (formerly known as Twitter), manager Ryan Garry has called up Jayden Meghoma, Samuel Amo-Ameyaw and Tyler Dibling from Saints.
The young Three Lions have been out in a group with Brazil, Iran and New Caledonia.
England kick off their World Cup campaign on Saturday, November 11th, with a 9am kick-off against New Caledonia.
England won the penultimate tournament in 2017, with Brazil winning the last one in 2019. England will be looking to reclaim their title in Indonesia, where the tournament is being hosted.
Great news for Saints

This is big news, for Meghoma, Amo-Ameyaw and Dibling.
All three are highly rated at St Mary’s, and is again showing why Saints have one of the best academies in the country.
Sibling is yet to make a first team appearance for the Saints, but has already scored three goals for the under-21s in Premier League 2 this season.
Meghoma made his first team debut in August, starting in Saints 3-1 defeat to League Two side Gillingham in the first round of the EFL Cup.
Amo-Ameyaw has had the best start to the season out of the three, becoming a regular part of Russell Martin’s squad. Although, he has not made an appearance for the Saints since August.
The tournament will be a chance for all three to show off their talents, and hopefully bring their nation silverware once again.
