Aaron Ramsdale will not be enjoying the international break as the Southampton number one has missed out on another England squad.

Aaron Ramsdale found himself demoted to a back-up role at Arsenal last season before completing a £25 million move to Southampton in the summer.

Despite his reduced role last season, Gareth Southgate included Ramsdale in the England squad for Euro 2024 where he acted as back-up to Jordan Pickford as the Three Lions went all the way to the final.

It has not been the easiest of starts for Ramsdale at Southampton as he has conceded ten goals in four matches, but the 26-year-old has still been able to show his quality with numerous fine saves.

Now, the Saints stopper has made a bold claim about one of his new teammates.

Aaron Ramsdale impressed by Southampton gem Tyler Dibling

Southampton fans have not had too much to cheer about this season so far, but the emergence of 18-year-old academy talent Tyler Dibling has certainty been a positive.

After a string of bright cameos, Russell Martin was left with little choice but to unleash Dibling from the start against Manchester United in the fourth game of the season and he has remained in the side ever since.

Ramsdale has certainly been impressed by Dibling and said in an interview on the Stadium Astro Youtube channel: “I think Tyler dribbles a little bit like Jack Wilshere, you know, the way he moves, the way he moves the ball, entices the defenders to come towards him and can skip around them.

“So yeah, he has got a bright future if he carries on working how he is doing now.”

Southampton already reliant on Dibling

Despite the fact he is just 18, Dibling is already one of the first names on the Southampton team sheet.

The silky left-footer has quickly become Southampton’s most threatening attacker and scored his first senior goal in just his second league start against Ipswich Town.

Dibling was called up to the England under-19 squad for a trio of friendlies this international break but withdrew with Southampton fans hoping this is merely to manage his workload after a busy start to the season.

Such are the teenager’s talents, he could well become full England international in the future, but for now his focus will be helping Southampton take a first three points of the season against Leicester City next time out.
