The reigning La Liga champions Barcelona have re-signed ex-Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu on a three-year deal.
Romeu joined the Saints in 2015 in a £5million move from Chelsea, the signing was undoubtedly a success as he went on to make 256 appearances for the club.
He finally departed St. Mary’s last September as he joined Girona, signing a three year deal there.
Romeu joined Chelsea from Barcelona in 2011 for a £4.35m fee with his potential though to be high.
Spending time on-loan at Valencia and Stuttgart, Romeu failed to impress the ruthless Chelsea chiefs and was thankfully sold to Southampton.
The 31-year-old midfielder is a La Masia graduate and has previously made two Barcelona appearances.

In fact it was Pep Guardiola who gave him his Barcelona debut, and now he heads back to his boyhood club.
Romeu re-joins Barcelona
The ex-Saints midfielder has returned to Camp Nou as a seasoned veteran following the Catalan side losing Sergio Busquets.
The fee Barcelona paid Girona for Romeu hasn’t been disclosed, however taking no chances, the La Liga giants have slapped a massive €400m (£347m) release clause onto the midfielder.
He has signed a new contract which runs until 2026 with Barcelona with the deal now official and confirmed.
This is a move many will consider confusing given the difference in quality between player and club.
However we imagine Xavi has a plan for the Spanish midfielder which we can’t wait to see.
