Southampton defender Lyanco has completed his move to Besiktas with documents all completed it is a done deal, according to reports.

The 26-year-old joined the Saints for €7.5million (£6.5m) in 2021 and went on to make 48 appearances for the club.

Including 30 last-season as he helped the club reach the League Cup semi-final but wasn’t enough to help his side avoid relegation.

The Brazilian arrived from Torino where he had made 53 appearances and was considered a solid defender earning himself a Premier League move.

When relegation was confirmed it quickly became apparent Lyanco was one star who wouldn’t be remaining when the side dropped down a level.

Now it seems a deal taking him from the South Coast to the Turkish Super Lig is completed.

Lyanco departs the Saints

The deal for Lyanco to leave Southampton is considered ‘done’ by Fabrizio Romano who tweeted:

“Documents signed, deal done. Lyanco can be considered new Besiktas player from Southampton.”

This follows Tuesday’s report that a deal had been agreed and the centre-back was due to fly to Turkey on Wednesday.

The defender will now be tasked with helping Besiktas regain the Turkish league title after Galatasaray’s triumph last year.

The fee Southampton will receive is currently unknown however it is hard to imagine a world where profit is made on him.

The player has also been seen making his way through Istanbul airport on his way to complete his medical etc.
