The race for Romeo Lavia is about to heat up, with Arsenal set to make the midfielder a ‘priority’ as Liverpool maintain interest.
Arsenal and Liverpool are two clubs who have gone through a midfield revolution this summer already, with both signing two starting midfielders already.
It however appears neither are done, with Southampton’s young Belgian star Lavia the target both are dreaming of.
Liverpool have signed both Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai for over £100m combined.
However with rumours pointing Fabinho and Jordan Henderson toward the exit doors and primarily to Saudi Arabia, the Reds are looking for another midfielder.
Meanwhile, the Gunners have signed Declan Rice and Kai Havertz, with Granit Xhaka being sold to Bayer Leverkusen.
He is expected to be joined on the exit list by Thomas Partey who is rumoured to be near a move to Saudi Arabia also.
According to reports, should this move happen, Arsenal will make signing Lavia their top target.

Lavia ‘priority’ for Liverpool and Arsenal
Coming from a report in Belgian paper DH, 19-year-old Lavia’s future could depend on the impending Saudi Pro League moves with both aforementioned clubs waiting for departures before making a move.
The move is labeled as a ‘priority’ if the exits happen. DH add that no ‘concrete offer’ has been made yet for the former Manchester City prospect.
Southampton will be keen for a bid to come in sooner than later, to give them ample time to find a replacement and use some of the transfer fee they’ll receive.
With the number of interested parties continuing to rise, it is likely just a matter of time before a bid arrives, with £50million the asking price.
