Southampton have confirmed the appointment of Colin Calderwood as first team coach.
Russell Martin has added to his backroom team after poaching Calderwood from League One side Northampton Town, where he was assistant manager.
Experienced coach joins Saints

The 58-year-old moves to the south coast with over 40 years of experience in professional football.
Known for playing for Tottenham and Aston Villa in a playing career where he amassed over 400 appearances.
He also had spells at Nottingham Forest, Notts County and Swindon Town after starting his career at Mansfield Town.
The former Scotland international took over as manager of Northampton in his first coaching role back in 2003.
He won promotion with them in 2006, before joining his other former club Forest, where he finished second in League One in 2008 to take them back up to League One.
He was also manager at Hibernian and Cambridge United afterwards, before becoming part of backroom teams at various clubs such as Villa, Birmingham City, Brighton and Blackpool.
He then returned to Northampton in June 2021, where he has been until now joining Southampton.
Wilcox on appointment
Talking about his appointment on the club website, Director of Football Jason Wilcox said: “We are delighted that Colin has agreed to join us and further strengthen Russell’s backroom team.
“He has a wealth of experience from his many years as a coach and manager that we know will be invaluable to our squad.”
