Southampton’s summer exodus has continued as centre-back Mohammed Salisu completes his move to Ligue 1.
The 24-year-old defender hadn’t featured for the Saints since March over concerns of his lack of commitment and application.
Salisu had sustained an injury and the Southampton management weren’t satisfied he was doing everything possible to get fit again.
The Ghana international ended up featuring 22 times in Southampton’s relegation season, but it has been clear he was on his way out.
Now after agreeing a deal over the weekend Southampton have finally sold the discontent defender.
Salisu now departs St. Mary’s after a three year stay at the club following his £10.9million move from Real Valladolid.

Salisu leaves
Salisu has finally managed to get the move he has long been waiting for, with Monaco winning the race for his signature.
The defender arrives in Monte Carlo as their Axel Disasi replacement and will cost them £17m, a fraction of what Chelsea have paid for Disasi.
The 24-year-old has signed a five-year deal with the Ligue 1 side, with a deal on the cards for weeks, highlighted by his exclusion from friendlies.
Salisu had previously drawn a bid from Fulham who agreed a £15m before switching their attention to the signing of Calvin Bassey instead from Ajax.
The Saints released a statement following his departure which stated: “We would like to wish Mohammed well for the future and thank him for his contribution.”
His departure will raise question marks over whether a replacement will be brought in, with Southampton already having an incredibly poor defensive record, which will only get worse at this rate.
