Southampton midfielder Stuart Armstrong has been praised for his ‘amazing’ performance whilst on international duty with Scotland.
The 31-year-old has been in incredible form for Saints this season, scoring two goals in 16 Championship appearances so far this season, playing a part in every game so far this season.
He has been an integral part of Russell Martin’s midfield, along with Flynn Downes and Will Smallbone.
But now Stuart Armstrong is showing his quality once again on the international stage.
Journalist praises ‘amazing’ Armstrong

Journalist Callum McCaffery of Football Scotland gave Armstrong an eight out of ten in his player ratings, following the 3-3 draw against Norway, in what was Scotland’s final qualification match for Euro 2024, having already qualified.
He said: “Showed amazing grit and determination to keep the ball in play and got his deserved goal at the end. Hasn’t had many opportunities to start but showed that he can still offer a great deal to the team.”
Will he make it to the Euros?
It is good to see that Armstrong is still impressing against high quality opposition on the international stage.
At 31 years old, Armstrong will be coming near the end of his international career, with retirement on the cards in the next few years.
He will be wanting to make sure he is in top form for Saints for the rest of the season so he can secure his place in the Scotland squad for Euro 2024.
It is good that Armstrong will have that extra motivation to do well for Saints. He has already been one of the best midfielders in the second tier so far this season, so getting promotion to Premier League along with playing at Euro 2024 will cap an amazing season for Armstrong.
