Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy is attracting interest from Premier League side Everton.
According to Football Insider, Everton manager Sean Dyche is looking at potential loan deals and free transfer in the upcoming January transfer window, with the club under strict restrictions following their ten point deduction.
One of those options for the Toffees could be McCarthy, with it being said that Dyche would like an experienced goalkeeper to join their ranks.
McCarthy fits the bill for that role too, boasting 147 appearances in the top flight in his illustrious career.
Should Alex McCarthy leave?

You would forgive Southampton fans for forgetting they have Alex McCarthy at the club.
He has only made one appearance for the Saints this season under the management of Russell Martin, and also only made one appearance under former manager Ruben Selles at the back end of last season as Saints were relegated from the Premier League.
Much like last season, Martin has decided to stick with Irishman Gavin Bazunu in goal, who has done a stellar job so far this campaign, keeping two clean sheets in 17 games.
Saints also have Joe Lumley as an option too, who has been seen in the match-day squad for the majority of the season on the bench.
Ultimately, getting rid of McCarthy would be best for all parties.
Everton get what they want, whilst Southampton would definitely want to get one of their highest earning players off the books, especially considering he does not play.
McCarthy may also want the move as at 33-years-old, he may struggle to find moves and longer contracts due to his age, so hull take the change to get one whilst he can. He is also much more likely to be on similar wages to what he is on now if he goes to Merseyside.
