Southampton are keeping tabs on Brondby IF midfielder Nicolai Vallys, but face plenty of competition.
According to Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet, Southampton have been keeping an eye on the 27-year-old’s performances, but are not alone.
Premier League sides Aston Villa and Manchester United are also said to be interested in his services.
There are also plenty of clubs across Europe like Southampton who are also interested who sent scouts to watch him play against Nordsjaelland for his side, including the likes of Real Betis, Wolfsburg, Marseille and PSV.
PSV had reportedly sent their chief scout to watch the Denmark international, with his performance being described very well, with him being called the ‘epitome of football intelligence at a high level’.
His contract currently expires in 2026, with Brondby’s manager Jensen Sorensen also admitting he is not surprised by the reported interest.
“I don’t go about my day worrying about whether we can keep Vallys. But if there is someone else who thinks Vallys is more talented than us, then I can really understand that.”

Vallys has been at Brondby for over a year, and can play on either wing as he is versatile in the attacking midfield positions.
He has been amazing this season in the Danish Superliga, scoring seven goals and claiming one assist so far this term in 11 games.He could be seen as a replacement for Stuart Armstrong – with Vallys playing in a similar role, whilst there have been no talks with the 33-year-old about a new deal, amid his contract expiring at the end of the season.
