Southampton are looking to wrap up one or two last minute deals before the 11pm transfer deadline in the UK.
Russell Martin has welcomed Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton on Deadline Day in a marquee deal that could rise to £25 million.
The Saints boss’ attention turned immediately to attackers after resolving his goalkeeper issue and moves for wide duo Maxwel Cornet and Ryan Fraser are edging ever closer to completion.
Cornet is undergoing a medical ahead of a loan from from West Ham and should be wrapped up prior to the transfer deadline, whilst Fraser looks to have negotiated the early termination of his Newcastle United contract to facilitate a move to Southampton.
The arrival of two wingers will be pleasing to Martin and it looks to now mean a young player will be allowed to leave the club on loan.

Samuel Edozie could leave Southampton ahead of transfer deadline
That player is Samuel Edozie, the 21-year-old winger who joined Southampton from Manchester City in summer 2022.
The youngster played his part as Martin‘s side won promotion last season but has struggled to make an impact in the early weeks of the new campaign and could agree a loan exit to gain invaluable experience elsewhere.
That is according to Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam, who posted on X: “Samuel Edozie has multiple options to leave Saints on loan today.
“It’s believed Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United and Swansea as well as two other unnamed Championship clubs are all hoping to land the former Manchester City man.
“Up to the player to decide…”
Edozie Southampton loan exit makes sense with Cornet and Fraser deals

Edozie was handed a start in Southampton’s 5-3 Carabao Cup win over Cardiff City in midweek and was unable to take his opportunity to impress.
That performance may well have made Martin’s mind up to allow the tricky young winger to continue his development elsewhere and the moves for Cornet and Fraser mean this can now happen with little impact on squad depth.
Any of the sides mentioned could represent a good temporary home for Edozie who could well be tempted to join former City academy and Saints team-mate Shea Charles on loan at Sheffield Wednesday.
It is difficult to see how Edozie will gain regular footballer should he stay at St Mary’s this season, so this could be the sensible solution.
