The former Southampton attacker got off to a perfect start in Serie A after leaving the club this summer.
In order to gear up for the 2024/25 Premier League season, Southampton set out this summer to move on several players not in Russell Martin’s plans.
When it comes to the deadwood in the side, Southampton brilliantly managed to move on Sekou Mara for an eight-figure fee to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.
However, there were also players who departed on a free, and one of which was Stuart Armstrong, who Martin has done well to replace with the loan signing Lesley Ugochukwu.
Che Adams was another player that moved on following the expiry of his contract, with Ben Brereton Diaz and Cameron Archer coming in to replace the Scotsman, who has now signed for Serie A side Torino, where he has looked to have got off to the perfect start.

Former Southampton striker Che Adams has dream Serie A debut
Adams spent five years at St Mary’s, where he played an important role, often leading the line for the Saints.
He went out in glory with a brilliant 15-goal season in the Championship, and he looks to have continued that form into his new stint at Serie A side Torino, where he bagged the winning goal against Europa League winners Atalanta in a 2-1 victory.
The former Birmingham City striker also contributed an assist to midfielder Ivan Ilic to level up the game, and as a result Adams left with the Player of the Match award for what was an impeccable performance.
Following the game, Adams took to X to issue a message to Torino fans about his ‘new home’.

Southampton are already missing Che Adams
Out of the first two Premier League games, Southampton are yet to score a single goal, which is fairly worrying when you take into account that Newcastle United were disadvantaged with just 10-men for large quantities of the game.
Brereton Diaz has looked fairly decent on the wing, however Adam Armstrong looks to have struggled with the physical side of the Premier League and a lack of experience in the top flight could play into that.
Adams had four seasons in the Premier League with Southampton, and there was no doubt that he wasn’t past his best after a brilliant Championship campaign, and that experience could have been crucial for Martin’s side, who are going to endure the league season with a fairly inexperienced front line.
Whilst it is brilliant on a personal level for Adams to be thriving already in Serie A, there is no doubt that he would be a brilliant asset as part of this Southampton side, and without him it is clear the impact he had on the pitch in terms of offering a goalscoring threat.
