Southampton striker Paul Onuachu is ‘unlikely’ to ever play for Southampton again.
According to the Daily Echo, Onuachu is most likely never going to make another appearance for Saints, following his £18 million move from Belgian side Genk in January.
He is widely considered a flop on the south coast and only made a substitute appearance in the 3-1 EFL Cup defeat to Gillingham for manager Russell Martin, before departing in August to Turkish side Trabzonspor on loan for the season.
He has started in brilliant form in the Super Lig, scoring four goals in seven games so far this season.
He is averaging a goal every 132 minutes for them, and scored the opener in their win over Fenerbahce on the weekend, with former Saint Dusan Tadic scoring both of Fenerbahce’s goals.
Speaking following Trabzonspor’s 3-2 win over Fenerbahce, Onuachu spoke about his style of play in Turkey.
“I am tall and you can also see that I use it sometimes my height but I also have a lot of qualities with my feet even better than my head.
“Being tall is one advantage and I have quality with my feet and you could see it with some of my actions. Being tall is an advantage but my feet are also working very well.”
No surprises on Onuachu

It is not a surprise to hear this.
Onuachu’s form will definitely be more likely to secure him a permanent move away from the club and raise funds for Southampton, rather than forcing his way back into the squad.
Although he definitely has the ability to be able to play a part for Martin’s side.
