Southampton centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis has explained that Vincent Kompany has drilled into him to always be focused on the next game.
The 21-year-old was under the management of Kompany last year at Burnley when they won the Championship.
Harwood-Bellis joined Saints on loan for the season in the summer from Manchester City, with there being an option to buy should Saints achieve promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking.
Harwood-Bellis on what he learned from Kompany

Speaking to the Daily Echo, Harwood-Bellis went into a bit more detail about the one key thing he learned from Kompany.
“To be fair, I find it hard to think about the last game – never mind 14 years.
“The mindset is always that you have got another game coming up. With Vincent last year, it was really drilled into me and the lads that you can’t be on an emotional rollercoaster.
“You can’t be thinking back, it’s always got to be focused on the next one. You can’t look too far ahead or too far back.
“I think that’s fed into my life a little bit really, I don’t look back. People speak to me about my young days and it was good, but I’m thinking about where I want to be.”
21-year-old starting to become key player for Saints
With Harwood-Bellis being a City boy and Kompany being a City legend, he is always going to listen to what he has to say.
Harwood-Bellis has brought this to the south coast under Russell Martin, where after a rocky start, he has now formed a good partnership with Jan Bednarek.
The England under-21 international will certainly be hoping Saints do get promotion, so he can finally settle after constant loan moves in the last few seasons.
