Winger Nathan Tella has been linked to many clubs this summer window with Bayer Leverkusen the latest.

He spent last season out on loan with Burnley, gaining plaudits for top performances as they won the Championship.

17 goals in 39 appearances for the Clarets as he finished as their top scorer.

With Vincent Kompany still interested and now Xabi Alonso’s side are enquiring, where will Tella end up.

Should Southampton sell Nathan Tella?

The Saints have already rejected a bid of £15 million from Burnley and set their stool out early.

He has started the first two Championship games and has played his part as Russell Martin’s side picked up four points.

Despite ‘free Nathan Tella’ going viral on Burnley social media, it appears their interest has cooled as they have signed both Nathan Redmond and Jacob Bruun Larsen.

With the departure of Moussa Diaby to Aston Villa, Leverkusen are in need of a replacement.

The sale of captain James Ward-Prowse represents a loss to the Saints’ squad and Tella would also hit hard to lose.

It appears at least £20 million would have to be tabled for Martin and co to consider selling him.

With Sam Edozie and Kamaldeen Sulemana, there are options on the wing for the Saints.

Selling Tella would see a loss of squad depth and quality at St Mary’s.

If the fee is right and a replacement can be found, then selling the winger could be useful to fund an attack up the league.

Who should Southampton sign to replace Nathan Tella?

Martin would need to get another winger if Tella was to be sold.

With a healthy fee coming in, a high quality signing for the Championship could be made.

Jaidon Antony

A young English winger who has won promotion from the Championship before.

23-year-old who can operate on either wing, he has made 90 appearances for the Cherries.

Making just 11 starts last season, a move could be beneficial for the Cherries’ academy graduate.

In the second division, Antony scored eight goals and assisted an additional seven showing the ability he posesses.

If a deal can be struck for under £10 million, he would represent a great deal given his age and pedigree in the league.

Facundo Buonanotte

The 18-year-old Argentinian from Brighton could be an ideal loan signing.

He is a versatile player who can play on either wing or as a number ten.

He adds an unknown quantity to the Saints and at his young age he provides a further youthful look to the squad.

Buonanotte made 13 appearances, including six starts, for the Seagulls last season.

Only contributing to two goals in that time, but with a consistent run of games in a lower league, he could become a useful asset.

Signing him on loan provides a risk free option opposed to making a big money signing.
