Southampton will be hoping to get their first points on the board for the Premier League season.
Russell Martin’s side have got off to a poor start in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, with Southampton yet to get a single point in their first three fixtures of the season.
It appears that many players within the Southampton side have struggled to adapt to the Premier League, including the likes of Adam Armstrong, who has struggled physically so far this season.
Armstrong is by no means in the minority when regarding players who haven’t quite stepped up for Martin’s side, but on a positive note there have been plenty of promising signs from new full-back arrival Yuki Sugawara, who has scored the only goal so far for the side.
Martin must be looking to make a change over the international period, and whilst the following fixtures aren’t too favourable for Southampton, they could still definitely take advantage of some crucial games.

What are Southampton’s next five fixtures
Southampton will kick-off post-international break with an early Saturday game at home to Manchester United, which is followed by a second successive game at St Mary’s as Martin’s side welcome fellow promoted side Ipswich Town.
A short trip to Bournemouth on a Monday night will follow, which will kick off at 8pm.
Following this, an away game at the Emirates awaits Southampton as they will face off with Arsenal in a 3pm kick-off.
The fifth game on Southampton’s radar will be a home tie against Leicester City.

Which games are winnable for Southampton
When analysing Southampton’s next five fixtures and where they should be looking to pick up extra points, all eyes ultimately turn on the two games against the fellow promoted sides.
Southampton fans will have to make St Mary’s a fortress for the games against Ipswich Town and Leicester City as it is highly likely that these two games certainly will have a significant impact on the outcome of the 2024/25 Premier League season when it comes to the relegation scrap.
A home game against Manchester United, whilst will likely be an uphill task, is by no means out of the realms of possibility for Southampton to potentially come away from the game with something. The same could be said for the away clash against Bournemouth.
There is no doubt that Martin needs at least two wins over the next five games, otherwise serious questions could be asked regarding how Southampton go forward with the current boss.
