Southampton have been rumoured with losing Armel Bella-Kotchap all window now, even until this late stage in the window.

The German has been subject of wide interest from the Bundesliga this summer, with two giants chasing his signature.

However despite Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund both being incredibly keen, it was explained last week by Express that he was proving to be too expensive for both.

Dortmund however un-deterred are said to be actively looking at ways which a loan-move could be feasible.

A loan doesn’t suit Southampton however given that wouldn’t give them the funds to find a replacement especially on such short notice.

However despite being late in the window, Bella-Kotchap is still keen on moving back to his native Germany.

Bella-Kotchap wants to move

According to Sport 1 journalist Patrick Berger, the 21-year-old ‘still wants to join’ Borussia Dortmund this window.

It is thought that despite this, Southampton continue to play hardball, given the number of players they have lost already this summer.

No offer to see the defender leave permanently have arrived which leaves his departure currently unlikely.

The move is said to be now ‘on hold’ with Dortmund believing Southampton are ‘playing poker’ in negotiations.

Bayern aren’t thought to be as serious as Dortmund but are mentioned as an interested party, but haven’t yet contacted the player over a move.

Despite a deal at this stage now being unlikely, we know it is still absolutely possible due to the huge sides in the conversation.

That being said, this feels like a link which will return in subsequent windows given his age and standing in the national team.
