Southampton are believed to be among several clubs interested in signing West Ham full-back Ben Johnson.
Southampton are reportedly keen on signing West Ham United’s Ben Johnson, who’s contract at the London Stadium expires next summer.
This is according to Claret and Hugh, which suggests the boyhood Hammers man is set to be pushed out of the club.
Johnson turns 24 in January and will be available from then if reports are to be believed. However, a summer deal appears more likely if a replacement cannot be found.
The full-back has been offered a new contract by West Ham but didn’t find the terms acceptable and therefore is available for transfer.

Johnson a target for Southampton
Johnson is a really solid target for the Saints and Russell Martin.
His qualities would be well suited to providing strength in depth across both full-back slots.
Ryan Manning on the left could benefit with having added competition, in order to see his performances remain at a top quality level, like he showed for Ireland over the international break.
On the right, Kyle Walker-Peters would also benefit, with his quality being among the best in the squad, having a player under him who is just as good would be hugely beneficial.
Johnson is a player who would be happy with a rotational role, as Stuart Pearce described him he is a ‘wonderful professional‘.
Saints need to sell before buying
Southampton have the issue of players like James Bree on the books who would need to be sold before bringing replacements.
Romain Perraud is another who has struggled while on loan with Nice, with just 30 minutes played all season which makes a permanent move unlikely.
Johnson therefore is a deal which will need some hoops to be jumped through by the Saints recruitment.
