Kamaldeen Sulemana, despite rumours, has remained at Southampton and could be an important player this season.

The Ghanaian was pushing for a move away following relegation, but a transfer never materialised in the end.

After signing the winger last season for a sizable fee, a bid in the region of £30 million was the minimum that the Saints would accept.

At 21-years old, he still has the chance to come good at St Mary’s and can return to the squad now.

With Nathan Tella leaving for Bayer Leverkusen, Sulemana will need to step up.

What can Kamaldeen Sulemana add to Southampton?

If Russell Martin can get his side to funnel the ball to the winger, he is great on the ball and drive forward.

Raw pace, power and ability to score from distance. These abilities could make him a unbelievable Championship player.

Taking on players and leaving them in his tracks is one of his key skills.

With Che Adams also staying, pairing with Adam Armstrong and new man Ross Stewart joining, it is an exciting time for the Saints.

If you don’t know what Sulemana is about, the final game of the season against Liverpool shows everything.

As a man that over £20 million was invested into, Martin has to try and get the best out of him.

With links to teams like Monaco during the window, surely the Championship should be a breeze for the winger.

The loss of Tella was huge and someone like Sulemana coming in could be like a new signing.

Samuel Edozie and Sekou Mara have become the go-to wingers it seems, but with the former Rennes man in the mix, it could be dangerous.

With a 5-0 loss to Sunderland now in the past, Martin and his team need to move on quickly to keep promotion on the cards.

With a great attack and midfield forming, some defensive solidity could turn this side into contenders.
