Southampton winger Ryan Fraser could be the ‘difference-maker’ in Saints’ promotion push, according to Dean Jones.
Fraser joined Saints on loan from Newcastle United at the end of the summer transfer window, as is starting to become an important player at St Mary’s.
The £42k-a-week star has been picking up in form in recent weeks, including scoring a 95th minute winner at Hull City on Saturday afternoon.
Jones on ‘difference-maker’ winger

Journalist Jones spoke to GiveMeSport about Fraser’s signing, saying that he could be the difference for Saints.
“Yeah, he’s obviously been a bit of a forgotten man, Ryan Fraser. So it’s good to see him making headlines again.
“When I first saw this signing, I thought it was pretty smart. He’s a player that I think was hanging out to see what Premier League move he might potentially get before deciding on a definite move to the Championship.
“When you move to Southampton, you’re making that decision because you think it’s only a matter of time before you’re back in the Premier League. So it’s a good stepping stone for him to get back to where he wants to be and he can definitely be a difference-maker for them in the Championship.
“They’ve got a lot of forward players who should be scoring goals, but he’s one that can step forward when they’re struggling.”
Fraser getting better and better
His goal against Hull was his first in red and white, in what was his ninth appearance this season in the Championship for Saints. He was praised for his ‘big impact’ after the game.
Fraser has spoken recently about wanting to remain at St Mary’s past this season, and with the form he is in currently, there is no reason why manager Russell Martin would not want him to stick around.
He will be hoping to start on Wednesday night when they travel to Preston North End.
