Southampton striker, Che Adams has opened up about the summer transfer window, rumours and the season so far.

The Scottish international has scored three and added two assists so far this season despite being heavily linked with a Premier League move.

In a game against Queens Park Rangers, Russell Martin decided to leave him out of the squad in case of any conflict of interest.

With that being said, he has been one of the Saints’ most influential players in what has been a poor start to the season generally speaking.

As the club’s second top scorer and assist maker, it is safe to say the forward is having a productive campaign so far.

What has Che Adams said?

With all the noise surrounding the Scottish striker, it may have been hard to continue.

On that, Adams said: “We have just come from a busy summer, jam-packed with everything everywhere and it’s about getting my head down and scoring goals.”

The mindset is clearly top-class from the Saints man to keep going in spite of all this.

Discussing this season, he said: “My football has to be the most important thing, games come thick and fast in the Championship.

“It’s hard to sit down and actually reflect on what’s going on or think about the future.”

Continuing on to talk about his own campaign, he added: “It’s about living now and taking each game as it comes.

“I’m enjoying my football again and it’s just about scoring goals, getting your name out there and most importantly winning games.”

When it comes to transfer windows, rumours are a normal thing, especially when it comes to a relegated club.

On the rumours, he said: “It’s part and parcel of football and it is nice to have your name out there but it also can be tricky to navigate through that.

“You just have to get your head down and work hard. Goals help that. To score and assist makes everything much better, and I’m enjoying my football again.”

With Adams looking like he is going to stay with the club, hopefully, his form can continue moving forward.
