Southampton striker Adam Armstrong boasts an incredible stat with the Championship’s record goalscorer.
Armstrong has been in incredible form this season, being Saints’ top scorer in the Championship so far this season, along with being the second highest goal scorer in the league.
He is only behind Jack Clarke of Sunderland, who has nine goals.
Due to his current form, he now has an incredible stat.
Armstrong’s incredible stat

As Southampton reporter for the Daily Echo posted on his X account (formerly known as Twitter), Armstrong is one of two players since the start of 19/20 to score 50 or more goals in the Championship.
Adding on to scoring eight so far this season, Armstrong scored 16 goals in the 19/20 season, and 28 goals in the 20/21 season whilst at Blackburn Rovers, the two season score he made the move to Southampton in the summer of 2021.
The other player is former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic. He broke the record for the most goals scored in a season in the Championship whilst playing for the Cottagers in 21/22, where he scored 43 goals.
This is coupled with his 19/20 season, where he scored 26 goals as Fulham were promoted to the Premier League in both seasons. He has since moved to Saud Arabia to join Al Hilal.
Armstrong has been banging them in for Saints this season after two seasons of poor form.
He only scored four goals in 53 Premier League appearances over the last two seasons, which culminated in relegation last season.
But under Russell Martin, Armstrong looks rejuvenated. Especially in the poor form of Che Adams, who looks set to leave.
