Southampton fans are slamming star striker Che Adams for his performance in Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw away at Preston North End, claiming he was ‘uninterested’.

Saints managed to score in the sixth minute of injury time to steal a point from playoff rivals North End, with an own goal from Ched Evans getting Saints a point.

Kyle Walker-Peters gave Saints the lead in the first half, but the Lilywhites scored two goals in quick succession early in the second half through Milutin Osmajic and Brad Potts, which looked to have given the hosts all three points.

Adams was hooked off at half-time despite having the lead, and it’s fair to say some Saints fans were not pleased with his performance.

One fan said: “Che Adams hooked at half time. Quite right too. Completely and utterly anonymous.”

Another fan agreed, saying: “He looks uninterested again tonight, regardless of the knock, he’s gone in January, hoping (Ross) Stewart is fit by then.”

Adams has failed to deliver as of late

It is fair to say that Adams has not quite been up to it since the close of the transfer window.

The £30k-a-week man was heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League in the summer window, and there have even been whispers of a January move to Wolves, too.

Adams has failed to score since the end of the window, despite scoring three in as many games at the start for the season.

Many will claim that Adams was playing for a move in August, and with his current form, it’s hard to disagree.
