Southampton made a number of signings in the summer, and had players on trial such as youngster Adeteye Gbadehan.
The 19-year-old looked set to join the Saints last month after a successful trial period.
However, the American now looks to join another club.
Gbadehan set for move to League One

According to The Athletic writer Tom Bogert, Gbadehan is now set to join League One side Port Vale.
He has been training with Vale ahead of a move, with The Athletic saying that he preferred a move to Vale over Southampton and Premier League side Brentford so he has a bigger chance of playing first team football.
It is said he opted to move to Vale ahead of Saints and Brentford as he did not want to play in the second team of a side higher up the English football pyramid.
It is also said that Gbadehan rejected the chance to join an MLS-affiliated academy, as he was in favour of a move to Europe.
Who is Gbadehan and are Saints missing out?
Adeteye Gbadehan is a central midfielder, standing at 6 foot 3 inches. He has a British passport, and featured in an academy in Maryland, America called the Future SC Monarchs.
There he won the 2021 Dallas Cup, which is a prestigious football tournament in America.
Whilst he does seem an attractive proposition, this should not be a player Southampton are going to be unhappy about missing out on.As he would only be a player for the U21s we’re he to join, you would imagine first team manager Russell Martin would not be too worried about missing out on him.
