Adeteye Gbadehan has had a successful trial period with Southampton and looks set to sign for them over Premier League side Brentford.

The teenager is hotly tipped and has had interest from various English clubs with Saints looking to land his signature.

With the sales of James Ward-Prowse and Romeo Lavia, midfield reinforcements have felt like a necessary requirement.

The signing of Shea Charles, points towards Southampton aiming for young players in the hope they will develop into top players.

Gbadehan is the latest name on that list.

Who is Adeteye Gbadehan?

The 19-year old has been training with clubs in England as he rejected the opportunity to sign with any MLS side’s academy.

He featured for the Future SC Monarchs, in Maryland, where he won a Dallas Cup which is one of the most competitive tournaments in the US.

A powerful central midfielder, standing at 6″3, he is a specimen at such a young age.

Gbadehan is a tricky customer despite his stature, able to dribble past his opponents with ease.

His passing is also of a high level whether it be long range or short.

Playing one touch passes and driving forward appears to be part of his game too.

Shooting from range is also in his Arsenal, cannoning strikes towards the goal often leaving goalkeepers with no chance.

He comes to the Saints as an unknown quantity that is for sure.

Obviously he must have impressed while on trial so it is an exciting signing for Southampton fans to get behind.
