Southampton have been told how much they will have to pay to land a 2024 summer transfer target from Liverpool.
It has been a hectic summer at St Mary’s so far as Russell Martin prepares his side for the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.
Previously key players like Che Adams and Stuart Armstrong have left the club, with the Saints moving quickly to replace them and add even more depth to their squad.
The South Coast outfit recently confirmed a move for Ben Brereton Diaz, who joins the club as their 11th addition this summer.
However, more players are still expected to make a move to Southampton before deadline day on August 30th.
With Diaz now confirmed, Southampton are expected to target another centre-forward.
Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko has been linked with Martin’s side this week.
The Saints will also have to pay £17m for Bright Osayi-Samuel, whom they are interested in signing from Fenerbache.

Southampton must pay seven figures for Liverpool man Sep van den Berg
Osayi-Samuel is not the only play Martin and co. may have to spend big on this summer.
Sepp van den Berg spent last season on loan from Liverpool in the Bundesliga with Mainz 05.
The Dutchman impressed while in Germany and has now returned to Anfield ahead of 2024/25.
However, Van den Berg is not expected to see too much action under Arne Slot, with the door for another move potentially open.
The Liverpool Echo report that the Reds have received numerous enquiries about the centre-back from the likes of Southampton, PSV Eindhoven and his former club, Mainz.
PSV are understood to have had a £10m offer for Van den Berg turned down this week with Liverpool looking for a much higher sum.
After Southampton paid £20m to sign Taylor Harwood-Bellis from Manchester City and Bournemouth close to a £15m move for Dean Huijsen, Liverpool believe £20m is a fair price tag for their centre-half.

Should Southampton sign Sepp van den Berg
The 22-year-old has struggled to make a name for himself in England, garnering just four senior appearances for Liverpool.
Van den Berg was a key figure for Mainz in the previous campaign and while he could prove a useful addition for Martin, he may not be the player they should be targeting right now.
Duje Caleta-Car left St Mary’s over the summer, depleting Southampton’s defence, but he has quickly been replaced.
Harwood-Bellis is now a permanent fixture in Southampton’s backline. He has been joined by Nathan Wood and Ronnie Edwards as centre-back additions this summer.
Southampton now have six senior central defenders on their books going into 2024/25.
As a result, while Van den Berg could prove a decent signing, Southampton may be better served spending their remaining transfer funds elsewhere.
